Some island-Alcatraz, Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island, as well as smaller Island of Alameda, Red Rock Island and Angel Island is a part of this city. In addition, the territory includes the uninhabited Farallon Islands, an area 27 miles (43 km) off the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
Mainland within the city limits to form "an area of seven square-times-seven miles', local designation of urban form, although the total area including the waters reached when 232 sq mi (600 km ²).
